LOCATION: Africa (Zambia) TOPIC: Surgery, Research & Education
On the invitation of the Zambian Ministry of Health (MOH) the Program in Global Surgery and Social Change (PGSSC) has fellows actively involved in creating a National Surgical Plan for Zambia which will be integrated into their national health plan, scheduled to be implemented in 2016. Dr. Mukhopadhyay and his team have been deeply involved in preparations and discussion surrounding the plan. Collaborations with multiple in-country and international partners, including World Health Organization (WHO), Tropical Health and Education Trust (THET- UK), and Development (DFID- UK), and a close partnership with the Zambian Ministry of Health have secured project milestones and maintained steady progress toward our goal.
