June 2021: Public Announcement Concerning a Proposed Health Care Project

The Children’s Medical Center Corporation located at 300 Longwood Avenue, Boston, MA 02115 intends to File a Notice of Determination of Need (“DON Application”) with the Massachusetts Department of Public Health for a Substantial Capital Expenditure, Ambulatory Surgery Center & DoN Required Equipment by Boston Children’s Hospital located at 300 Longwood Avenue, Boston, MA 02115. The DON application requests approval for the following: (1) Renovation [and equipping] of space within the Hospital’s existing facility at 9 Hope Avenue, Waltham, MA (2) leasing, construction, fit-out, and equipping of a building located at 200 Libbey Parkway in Weymouth, MA , and (3) land acquisition, construction, fit-out, and equipping of an ambulatory surgical center and facility zoned for pediatric medical use at 380 First Avenue in Needham, MA, and (4) the addition of DoN required equipment in Weymouth and Needham. The total value of the Proposed Project is $434,691,000. The Applicant does not anticipate any price or service impacts on the Applicant’s existing Patient Panel as a result of the Proposed Project. Any ten Taxpayers of Massachusetts may register in connection with the intended Application by not later than August 16 or 30 days from the Filing Date, whichever is later, by contacting the Department of Public Health, Determination of Need Program, 250 Washington Street, 6th Floor, Boston, MA 02108.

July 2021, Conservation DON: Public Announcement Concerning a Proposed Health Care Project

The Children’s Medical Center Corporation located at 300 Longwood Avenue, Boston, MA 02115 intends to File a Notice of Determination of Need (“Application”) with the Massachusetts Department of Public Health for a conservation project by Boston Children’s Hospital located at 300 Longwood Avenue, Boston, MA 02115.  The application requests approval for the following: (1) renovations to pharmaceutical areas in order to ensure compliance with USP 800, (2) renovations to the radiology department, (3) renovation to support reverse osmosis system for scope cleaning and (4) hospital wide building renewals to maintain current operations. The total value of the Proposed Conservation Project is $26,252,500. This Application includes projects at the Longwood Campus as well as our Lexington and Waltham satellite locations. The Applicant does not anticipate any price or service impacts on the Applicant’s existing Patient Panel as a result of the Proposed Conservation Project.
