Child Life Services

Due to continued precautions around COVID-19, will be unable to accept any tangible, in-kind donations  (including homemade items, store-bought items, and items collected in the community) this holiday season.

Support our patients and families this holiday season by hosting a virtual toy drive. Instead of donating toys, raise funds to provide meaningful gifts to patients and fill urgent needs for families and the hospital. You’ll receive an online fundraising page, one-on-one guidance, and a number of helpful tools and resources. Register now, or reach out to events@chtrust.org with questions.

Our mission

The mission of the Child Life Services Department is to assist and support patients and families in their adjustment to the hospital experience. Emotional and developmental interventions are provided to ensure that the appropriate care and services are provided. This mission is accomplished through collaborative interdisciplinary practice and education.

Here at Boston Children’s Hospital, child life specialists are part of the healthcare team. Members of the Child Life Department work closely with the multidisciplinary team to provide developmental perspectives and support the varied needs of patients and families.

How to contact us

Ask your nurse or a member of your healthcare team if you would like to meet with a member of our Child Life Services team.
