Volunteers at Boston Children's Hospital perform various duties throughout their shifts. Although the tasks differ depending on their unit and area of the hospital, every role will be play based with the patient at the bedside or in the playroom/waiting room areas. There will be toy washing throughout the shift as well as assisting supervisors with any non-medical tasks that may come up, allowing every shift to look different.
