Early Intervention Program Volunteer, Martha Eliot Health Center

This opportunity is located at 75 Bickford St., Jamaica Plain. Our patient population is infants and toddlers with developmental delays and complex medical conditions.

Duties

  • Assisting with office support for various projects
  • Assisting with the program’s play groups in the outpatient clinic

Requirements

  • At least 18 years old and graduated from high school
  • If applying, must fully complete application and submit reference sheet
  • Available to attend a Zoom interview
  • Available to start in May 2026 and continue for a one-year commitment
  • Note: Applicants should have experience working with children ages 0-3. Experience working in special education and/or with children with developmental delays is preferred.

Minimum commitment

  • One two- to three-hour shift per week for one calendar year (May 2026 to May 2027)

Clinic Volunteer, Boston Children's Needham

This opportunity is available to volunteers at Boston Children’s Needham, located at 360 1st Ave., Needham.

Duties

  • Interact with patients and families: play games, read, and engage in basic art projects
  • Create an art project of the day to engage families during volunteer shifts
  • Help to organize and provide a safe, clean environment while assisting with toy washing
  • Assist the supervisor with any other needs, such as programming or preparing materials for patients and families
  • Provide volunteer support to multiple clinics within the hospital

Requirements

  • At least 18 years old and graduated from high school

  • Available to attend a Zoom interview
  • Available to start in June 2026 and continue for the year commitment

Minimum commitment

  • One set three-hour shift per week for one calendar year (June 2026 to June 2027).
  • This timeline includes volunteering during the summer months of 2026. Please keep in mind that we ask volunteers to maintain a weekday, daytime volunteer shift throughout the calendar year.
