The lactation consultants in the Lactation Support Program are highly trained and experienced nurses who work with families and infants who have breastfeeding difficulties. All program staff are international board-certified lactation consultants (IBCLC), which is the gold standard in lactation certification. Below is a list of some of the areas that we specialize in treating:

  • Clinical breastfeeding/chest-feeding evaluation and assessment
  • Feeding difficulties: inability to latch at the breast
  • Suckling difficulties, oral aversion, hypersensitive gag reflex at breast
  • Separation of lactating parent from infant
  • Establishing milk supply using a breast pump
  • Complications of lactation: engorgement, mastitis, low milk supply
