Brian Kalish | Professional History

Dr. Brian Kalish is a neonatologist and neurobiologist with a special interest in neonatal neuroprotection and plasticity. Dr. Kalish studied Public Health at Johns Hopkins and completed medical school at Harvard. After residency in the Boston Combined Program in Pediatrics on the Accelerated Research Pathway, he completed fellowship in the Harvard Program in Neonatal-Perinatal Medicine. Dr. Kalish was a Staff Neonatologist, Director of Neonatology Research, and Scientist in the Program in Neuroscience and Mental Health at the Hospital for Sick Children before returning to Boston Children's Hospital in 2024. His clinical expertise is in neonatal neuroscience and his research focuses on understanding how intrauterine and early life experience shapes neurodevelopment.
