Meghan Keating | Professional History

Meghan Keating, MPAS, PA-C, DMSc, is a highly experienced Physician Assistant with nine years of expertise in female athlete-specific care, sports medicine, and orthopedic healthcare. She currently serves as the Assistant PA Director for PA Services at Boston Children’s Hospital and as a practicing PA Level 3 in the Female Athlete Program, where she plays a critical role in clinical care, patient management, and interdisciplinary collaboration.

In her position, Meghan provides comprehensive medical care to pediatric, adolescent, and young adult female athletes, assisting in the diagnosis, treatment, and rehabilitation of sports-related injuries. She has developed and implemented clinical protocols tailored to the unique needs of female athletes and works closely with physicians, physical therapists, dietitians, and mental health providers to ensure holistic, evidence-based care.

She earned her Doctor of Medical Science degree in Healthcare Leadership with a concentration in Health Informatics, and she is actively involved in advancing research in the female athlete space. At the hospital level, Meghan plays an integral role in driving informatics initiatives, helping to shape how technology and data are used to improve clinical workflows and patient outcomes.

My philosophy of care is rooted in a patient-centered, evidence-based approach tailored to the unique needs of female athletes. I focus on creating individualized treatment plans that prioritize injury prevention, long-term health, and performance. I believe in empowering patients through education—helping them understand their bodies, recovery process, and how proper fueling, rehab, and training adjustments play a key role in staying healthy and strong.

I also value a collaborative, team-based approach. Working closely with physicians, physical therapists, dietitians, and sports psychologists allows us to deliver well-rounded, comprehensive care. I’m especially passionate about using research to guide practice and develop protocols that address gaps in female athlete healthcare in a mean.
