IT support for the clinical research enterprise
The Institutional Centers for Clinical and Translational Research (ICCTR) and Information Services Department (ISD) have established the Clinical Research Information Technology (CRIT) team to integrate closely the domain knowledge of the Boston Children's Hospital Clinical Research Center with the technical expertise of the ISD.
The mission of CRIT is to provide leadership and innovative information technology services to enable and support the Boston Children's clinical research enterprise. CRIT is responsible primarily for sharing technical skills and resources, enhancing collaboration and improving the efficiency of clinical research applications development. The unit serves to champion innovative informatics solutions and expand IT services to the entire clinical research community.
Currently, CRIT can provide a variety of technical solutions to clinical investigators. These include systems for clinical trials data management (REDCap and InForm) , subject randomization, web-based survey research (REDCap Survey, SPSS Data Collector) and study coordination.
