Evalynn Vasquez | Professional History

Evalynn Vasquez, MD, MBA is a board-certified pediatric urologist with specialized expertise in complex genitourinary reconstruction. Her clinical focus includes the care of children with bladder exstrophy, spina bifida, neurogenic bladder, and anorectal malformations/cloacal anomalies. Dr. Vasquez completed her undergraduate studies in Biochemistry at the University of California, Los Angeles in 2002, and earned a dual MD-MBA degree from Saint Louis University School of Medicine and John Cook School of Business in 2007. She went on to complete her urology residency at Loyola University Medical Center in 2013, followed by a three-year fellowship in pediatric urology at Boston Children’s Hospital.

She previously served as Director of the Complex Reconstruction and Malformations Program and Associate Chief of the Division of Urology at Children’s Hospital Los Angeles. In addition to her surgical expertise, Dr. Vasquez is deeply committed to global health and currently serves as Director of Global Health Initiatives. In this role, she is building sustainable pediatric urology training programs for local surgeons in underserved regions, helping them achieve independence in care delivery and long-term follow-up, ultimately improving outcomes for children worldwide.

As a pediatric urologist, I am deeply committed to the care of children born with complex congenital malformations and to the life-changing impact of reconstructive surgery. My passion lies not only in addressing challenging anatomical issues but in helping each child live as fully and confidently as possible. Every patient I meet is more than a diagnosis. They are a whole person, part of a family navigating uncertainty, and deserving of empathy, respect, and expert care. I strive to bring both technical excellence and a compassionate bedside manner to each encounter. I believe in listening carefully, communicating clearly, and always taking the time to ensure families feel heard, informed, and empowered. For me, the best outcomes come from true partnership with the patient, their family.
