Richard N. Yu, MD, PhD, is board-certified in Urology and fellowship trained in Pediatric Urology. He is the director of the Robotic Surgery Program and specializes in minimally invasive surgery. He treats patients with general pediatric urology problems and performs robotic surgery for ureteropelvic junction obstruction, vesicoureteral reflux, and congenital abnormalities of the urinary tract. He also coordinates the pediatric male fertility preservation program in the Department of Urology in conjunction with Dana-Farber - Boston Children's Cancer and Blood Disorders Center.

Dr. Yu’s research interests include robotic surgery training and education using advanced computer simulation and hands-on training in a simulated OR environment. He also studies the complex interactions that occur during robotic surgery to improve medical decision-making and patient outcomes.
