The Division of Emergency Medicine conducts ground-breaking research to better care for children seeking care in the Emergency Department. Faculty members within the Division of Emergency Medicine are world-leading experts in multiple areas including concussion, pneumonia, sepsis, disaster preparedness, and Lyme disease.
Research conducted within the Division of Emergency Medicine at Boston Children’s Hospital has been used to develop and update guidelines for the management of fever, abdominal pain, and head injury.
As a teaching hospital affiliated with Harvard Medical School, there are ongoing efforts to improve and set standards for educating Harvard medical students and trainees.
