PAHC policy

For school return, we recommend that all schools regularly endorse staff and students wear a cloth face covering, washing hands and practice physical distancing. The risks of not being in school are greater than the risks of spreading COVID when safety measures are practiced. The risks of not being in school include missing out on necessary education, physical occupational and speech therapy, necessary social skills, and the high level of academics that are required to master at each grade level.

Pediatricians recommend that all children should be in an appropriate educational setting. Keep children at home if they have a fever, cough, congestion, runny nose, diarrhea or vomiting. If a person tests COVID-19 positive, they can return to public settings when 24 hours fever-free without taking any fever medication AND their symptoms are improving AND it's been at least 10 days from beginning of symptoms AND at least 10 days from the date the positive test came back. If symptomatic but didn't get tested, all of the above guidelines. If COVID-19 negative, return to public setting with 24 hours fever-free and symptoms improving.
