Dr. Peter Roman joins Westwood-Mansfield Pediatrics!

Dr. Peter Roman is a native of the Merrimack Valley of Massachusetts. He graduated cum laude with a degree in biology from Boston College in 2011. He went on to graduate from UMass Medical School in 2015 and completed his pediatric residency at Hasbro Children’s Hospital/Brown University in 2018. He joined Westwood Mansfield Pediatrics after working in primary care pediatrics in Attleboro, MA for 4 years. As a board-certified pediatrician, Dr. Roman is passionate about caring for the whole child and enjoys the opportunity to get to know his patients, their families and the communities around them. His clinical interests include newborn care, childhood development, asthma and sports medicine. Outside of work, he enjoys spending time with his wife and son, running/hiking, cooking, and rooting for Boston sports.

While COVID case counts in the community (and in our patients) are by far the highest they have been at any point in the pandemic, there is some encouraging evidence that perhaps the most recent COVID surge has peaked.

What We Anticipate from Omicron & FAQ

Omicron has shown itself to be very easily transmissible. There is some suggestion that it may be less virulent, but it is still a little too early to say that with confidence.

COVID Vaccine Update

This week, we expect the CDC to grant approval of COVID Vaccines for 5-11-year-old children. We at Westwood-Mansfield Pediatrics strongly recommend that all eligible individuals (this includes you, parents!) receive COVID vaccinations.
