Dr. Henderson is an Attending Physician in Rheumatology at Boston Children’s Hospital and an Instructor in Pediatrics at Harvard Medical School. She oversees the daily operations of the New-onset JIA Registry and the Rheumatic Diseases of Childhood Biorepository at Boston Children’s Hospital. In addition, she serves as the subcommittee chair for the CARRA (Childhood Arthritis and Rheumatology Research Alliance) federated biorepository that includes more than 60 pediatric rheumatology sites in the US and Canada. Her research focuses on the role of regulatory T cells in the pathogenesis of juvenile idiopathic arthritis.

Study Name: Biologic Phenotyping of Juvenile Arthritis
Goals of the Study: This study seeks to pre-treatment biosamples from patients with new-onset JIA to enable related translational research.
Requirements of Participants: Previously untreated JIA or other arthritis developing before age 18. Healthy controls also enrolled. Contributing patients provide a single blood sample before starting treatment.

Study Name: Studies of Rheumatic Diseases of Childhood
Goals of the Study: This study seeks to enroll patients with rheumatic diseases of any kind, and at any stage, to enable related translational research.
Requirements of Participants: Contributing patients provide a single sample at the time of enrollment.
