Professional History

Elspeth Hart is a Sports Medicine PA-C at Boston Children’s Hospital and in both the surgical and clinical settings. She grew up doing gymnastics from the age of 3 to 23, and had many injuries from the sport which caused her to become interested in Sports Medicine. She was recruited for Division I College gymnastics at James Madison University (JMU) where her major was Athletic Training/Sports Medicine. After graduating from JMU she passed her Boards and became a Certified Athletic Trainer. After practicing for a 1 year an ATC she decided that she wanted to be in the OR and in an outpatient Sports Medicine clinical setting, and so she went to MCPHS University (Boston Campus) where she received her Masters in Physician Assistant Studies. After graduating from MCPHS and she passed her Boards, was hired by Boston Children’s Hospital Orthopedics Department: Sports Medicine Division. After her first year she proposed starting the first ever Injured Gymnast Clinic (a clinic which focuses on solely diagnosing, treating, and preventing gymnastics injuries), and truly came full circle from being a gymnast to treating gymnasts.
