Our integrated multidisciplinary team provides the specialized care to meet the needs of your child. Physicians and surgeons in the Department of Otolaryngology (Drs. Eelam AdilMichael Cunningham and Reza Rahbar) will be at the center of your care – providing the initial endoscopic evaluation, performing surgery to remove the tumor, and offering ongoing follow-up. If the tumor impacts the brain, neurosurgeons from the Department of Neurosurgery (Dr. Ed Smith) will partner with Otolaryngology for surgery to address risks involving the brain. Diagnostic imaging and angiographic embolization before surgery will be completed by specialists from the Department of Radiology (Dr. Darren Orbach). Comfort during and after surgery is important, and our anesthesiologists are specialized in the care of children and have expertise to manage the airway near the area of surgery. If your child’s tumor cannot be fully removed through surgery, we consider the role of medical therapies to prevent further growth or recurrence. These specialists are hematologist/oncologists in the Vascular Anomalies Center and Dana-Farber/Boston Children’s Cancer and Blood Disorders Center (Drs. Cameron Trenor and Denise Adams).
