Virtual Visits

Boston Children’s Hospital offers virtual visits (video appointments) for follow-up care in a growing number of clinics. This allows some patients and their families to video chat with their care team from the comfort of their own home or another convenient location. This saves you time and travel costs.

How it works

To have a virtual visit, you just need a mobile device, tablet or computer with wifi connection.

Once the appointment is scheduled, you will receive a confirmation email with step-by-step instructions for downloading the virtual visits software to your device. On the day of the visit you can video chat with your provider and share screens. You’ll even be able to see X-rays or lab results.

If you or your child has an appointment in one of our participating clinics, ask if a virtual visit is an option for follow-up care.
