When prune belly syndrome led to renal failure more than three decades ago, Mark received the ultimate gift from his sister: a new kidney. The kidney transplant gave him the freedom to avoid time-consuming dialysis, allowing him to take to the sky and become a pilot and flight instructor. To this day, he appreciates how his team at Boston Children’s Pediatric Transplant Center listened to his concerns and eased his fears.
