Do you want to know more about insulin pump therapy? This class is for families that wish to learn more about insulin pumps and the steps that are needed to successfully transition to one if the patient feels it’s the right choice. It’s the first step in an important transition.
The class is for patients who already use an insulin pump but need refreshers on safety. It’s also for adolescents who use pumps and are preparing to use and manage them without the help of family. And it’s for those who haven’t yet learned how to use an insulin pump but are discovering how to troubleshoot and safely manage their diabetes with technology. We will discuss general safety, how to manage ketones, necessary emergency supplies, and the basic concepts of insulin doses while using a pump.
