Diagnosed with gastroschisis as an infant, Julieh received a five-organ multivisceral transplant when she was three months old. She doesn’t recall the procedure, but she’ll never forget years later when she was in the hospital for treatment: A Boston Children’s Hospital nurse went out of his way in the middle of the night to get her cookies and cream chocolate. Julieh is thankful for her transplant team and that she is able to do anything a normal teen would do.
