Ongoing Research | Overview
Our research interests focus on pain and anesthesia in the pediatric population. Our lab group has a wide range of projects ranging from basic science to clinical-based research. Our goal is to understand the neurobiology underlying pain and anesthesia in children, to improve treatment outcomes and guide improvements in clinical care.
Our ongoing research projects include:
- Brain Activity During Anesthesia in Infants and Children
- Design of Pediatric Analgesic Trials and Placebo Phenomena in Pediatrics
- Evaluating the Clinical Effectiveness of Gabapentin and Oxcarbazepine for Chronic Neuropathic Pain in Children and Adolescents
- Laboratory Models of Local Anesthetic Safety & Effectiveness
- Neosaxitoxin for Prolonged Local Anesthesia
- Outcomes, Clinical Effectiveness, and Safety of Pediatric Acute and Chronic Pain Management
