Dr. Mendes attended medical school at Boston University where he also added on a Master’s Degree in Public Health. He completed his Residency at Hasbro Children’s Hospital in Rhode Island and then was asked to stay and additional year to supervise the program as Chief Resident. He joined Dr Conway at Wareham Pediatrics in 1999.

He was named Community Pediatrician of the Year by Boston Children’s Hospital in 2013.

He was also named “Father of the Year” by his then 5 year old daughter Julia in June, 2018, but then that winter his then-teenage son Adam named him “Worst Dad Ever.”
