Professional History

Dr. Guilbault is a pediatric orthopaedic surgeon specializing in limb deformity and complex lower extremity reconstruction. He completed his orthopaedic surgery residency at Johns Hopkins Hospital, where he developed a strong foundation in clinical care, research, and innovation through collaborations with engineering teams. He then pursued fellowship training in pediatric orthopaedics at Boston Children’s Hospital, followed by a limb reconstruction fellowship at the Royal Children’s Hospital in Melbourne, Australia, where he gained specialized expertise in deformity correction, growth modulation, and external fixation techniques.

His academic interests center on improving surgical education and advancing care in resource-limited settings, with ongoing research in limb deformity and global orthopaedics. He has participated in multiple international mission and training efforts across Africa, Central America, and the Caribbean. In addition to clinical practice, he is actively involved in teaching residents and fellows and developing educational curricula, reflecting a commitment to technical excellence and patient-centered care.

Approach to Care
Dr. Guilbault entered medicine to combine technical excellence with meaningful human connection. As a pediatric orthopaedic surgeon, his approach centers on thoughtful, evidence-based care tailored to each child and family. He prioritizes clear communication, shared decision-making, and long-term function over short-term fixes. His goal is not only to correct deformity, but to restore confidence, mobility, and quality of life—while supporting families through complex decisions with empathy and transparency.
