Clinicians in the Center for Healthy Infant Lung Development (CHILD) at Boston Children's Hospital are focused on standardizing the protocol for weaning infants and children off oxygen. As one of the larger program in the country, CHILD sees about 80 new patients each year and there are currently several hundred in their database. By keeping track of patients in this way, researchers are better able to monitor their outcomes and look at predictors of those outcomes.
