Robert Geggel, MD
Dr. Robert “Bob” Geggel retired from Boston Children’s in January 2026. Over four decades, he made many meaningful contributions to pediatric cardiology, including the creation of a congenital heart disease library that is used by clinicians around the world (available at www.openpediatrics.org) and the standard he set in the assessment and management of chest pain. He mentored many residents and fellows and was celebrated for teaching the “art” of medicine from auscultation skills to modeling humanism and professionalism. Countless children benefitted from his unparalleled skills in diagnosing and treating heart disease. We congratulate him for a remarkable career and wish him the best in retirement.
