Meet Kaity Sobiech
Kaity Sobiech is the newest case manager for the Healthy in the City program. She will be managing the Healthy in the City program at Bowdoin Street Health Center. Join us in welcoming Kaity and learning more about her.
Tell us about yourself. What is your background and any experiences prior to joining the Bowdoin team?
I am a long-time champion for the health and well-being of children, serving as a caregiver, tutor, and a teacher for a culmination of almost 10 years. I am also an MPH student at Tufts University School of Medicine, a certified yoga teacher, and a proud Bahamian.
What are you most excited about working on with the patients in the Healthy in the City program?
I am most excited to work with patients to holistically meet their health goals, keeping in mind that it is a continuous journey that requires grace, hope, and adaptability. I am excited to craft programs and resource-toolkits that guide children to take good care of themselves, while providing their guardians with the support to do so.
What are your goals for the program or the next year?
Within the next year of this program, I would love to see the youth community members reach at least two health goals they identified for themselves. Additionally, I envision the relationships with their families and Bowdoin Street Health Center to be strengthened by meeting regularly.
What are your hopes for the future of the patients and families you serve?
Our ultimate hope is that we guide children to being healthy and happy individuals who can identify when they need help, then know where to find it or who/what they can turn to for support.
Anything else to share?
It is my privilege to preserve our future by taking care of those who will imagine and create new worlds for us, one day soon.
