Current Environment: Production

Endoscopic vacuum-assisted closure (EVAC) is a nonsurgical endoscopic procedure that can help avoid open surgery and help allow the esophagus to heal after injury. In Boston Children’s Esophageal and Airway Treatment Center, our skilled clinicians use EVAC to treat esophageal perforation and leaks.
Boston Children’s was the first pediatric institution to study EVAC in children and continues to do research in this area. Learn more about EVAC in this animated video, featuring gastroenterologist Dr. Peter Ngo.
