About this Video

Kellie Machlus, PhD, is a Principal Investigator in the Megakaryocytes to Platelets Research Group within Boston Children’s Hospital’s Vascular Biology Program. She describes the thrill of discovery, being a scientist, and creating a safe, fun environment for her lab members. Her group hopes to find a therapeutic that can trigger the body to produce platelets, avoiding the need for platelet transfusions.
