A partial heart transplant (or human heart valve transplant) replaces a diseased heart valve with a healthy valve from a donor. Boston Children’s Heart specialists believe it is more sustainable than a bioprosthetic transplant or mechanical implant. The valve has the potential to grow along with a patient, and recovery could require a lesser amount of immunosuppressives.
