Our priority in the Pediatric Podiatry Program is helping our patients return to activity as soon as they can do so safely. While we have access to some of the best pediatric orthopedic surgeons in the world, we start with conservative treatments, such as orthotics and physical therapy, whenever possible.
If your child has a sports injury, we first work to identify the root cause — which could be misalignment or poorly fitting shoes. For instance, in partnership with the injury prevention specialists at The Micheli Center for Sports Injury Prevention (part of the Sports Medicine Division), we often work with runners and figure skaters to address biomechanical issues (movement patterns) that are putting them at risk of injury.
With our depth of experience and our team approach we can provide your child the care they need to return to activity without further injury.
