Clinical team
Your child’s care team will include the doctor in charge of your child’s care and may also include a physician assistant (PA) and nurse practitioner (NP). This team works together to care for your child. Your child’s doctor will be directing your child’s care at all times and is always available to answer questions.
After your visit
Most orthopedic visits, follow-up care, and many surgical procedures are done on an outpatient basis. Unless your child is scheduled for a surgical procedure that requires an overnight stay, they’ll return home with you on the same day as their visit.
Before the end of your visit, a member or our team will tell you what additional services, such as X-ray, bracing, casting, or medical equipment the doctor has recommended for your child.
Diagnostic tests
Your child’s doctor may order one or more following diagnostic tests, which can be done on site at many of our locations:
Bracing and casting
If your child needs a cast applied or removed, we have casting clinics in our Boston, Waltham, Peabody, and Weymouth facilities.
We also work closely with Boston Orthotics & Prosthetics to provide customized braces and prosthetics for our patients who need them. Boston O&P clinics are conveniently located in our Boston, Waltham, and Weymouth locations and down the street from our Peabody facility.
