We accept approximately five new residents per year.

The Neurodevelopmental Disabilities (NDD) residency program is a four-year curriculum for physicians who have completed two core pediatric training years in an ACGME-accredited program. Residents train in both child neurology and developmental medicine, learning from some of the best practitioners and researchers in the nation. Residents are chosen for their academic credentials, interpersonal and intrapersonal relationship skills, dedication, and unselfishness.

The Neurology Department’s Division of Epilepsy and Clinical Neurophysiology offers a one-year fellowship program that trains academically oriented physicians to become comprehensively trained pediatric clinical neurophysiologists and epileptologists.

The program will familiarize physicians who have completed their training in child neurology with state-of-the-art diagnostic and therapeutic methods in the epilepsy/clinical neurophysiology field.

The clinical neurophysiology and epilepsy training programs are ACGME accredited. By the end of their year of training, fellows are eligible to take the clinical neurophysiology or epilepsy subspecialty boards of the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology, if they have previously completed an accredited residency program in neurology.

Currently, we offer four positions per year. Individual fellows may occasionally be offered a second year of research or other subspeciality training, depending on availability of funding.

The 12-month Electroneurodiagnostic (END) Technology Program at Boston Children's offers training in the art and science of clinical neurophysiologic technology. The program runs from June to June and prepares students for eventual certification as a Registered Electrocephalography Technologist (REEGT).

The END program combines classroom teaching with extensive hand-on training. Each trainee will become proficient in carrying out routine EEG studies and will be exposed to related types of testing such as evoked potentials, epilepsy monitoring and sleep technology. Trainees can also receive three additional months of optional training in Sleep and Long-Term Monitoring (LTM).
