Advancing ethical care in pediatric medicine
The Center for Pediatric Bioethics at Boston Children’s Hospital, established in 2025, advances the field of pediatric bioethics and integrates ethical considerations across clinical care, research, and institutional activities at Boston Children’s. We serve as a resource for the pediatric bioethics community nationally and internationally.
Through education, research, and collaboration, the Center expands opportunities for residents, fellows, staff, students, and faculty at Boston Children’s and beyond to engage with the ethical questions that arise in pediatric care. We aim to educate and prepare the next generation of leaders in pediatrics and pediatric bioethics.
The center also provides support for clinical ethics consultations at Boston Children’s, research and scholarship in pediatric bioethics, and organizational ethics.
Taken together, this work establishes a strong foundation for pediatric bioethics at Boston Children’s, integrating an ethics lens into clinical practice, scholarship, and institutional life and advancing thoughtful, ethically grounded care for patients and families. Our programs, events, and educational resources are available to colleagues both locally and around the world.
