Brenda joined the Engle Lab in 2015 and is responsible for overseeing our human subjects study protocols and coordinating the Congenital Cranial Dysinnervation Disorders (CCDD) clinic. She coordinates communications between the lab, study participants, referring providers and research collaborators in the US and abroad and enrolls families into our research studies. Through the CCDD clinic, she also offers genetic counseling for pediatric and adult patients and their families, affected by cranial nerve disorders.

Brenda received her BA in Biology from Williams College and her MS in Genetic Counseling from Brandeis University, is Board Certified by the American Board of Genetic Counseling, and is a Licensed Genetic Counselor in the State of Massachusetts. She has prior experience providing clinical cancer predisposition genetic counseling services and coordinating genetic brain malformation studies, and previously worked in the laboratories of Dr. Saul Tzipori at Tufts University School of Veterinary Medicine, Dr. William Hickey at Dartmouth Medical School and Dr. Eliot Spindle in Portland, OR.
