The intersection of normal and diseased blood formation

The Rowe laboratory is interested in the intersection of normal and diseased blood formation. We incorporate the concept of heterochrony (timing of developmental events) into understanding the process of normal hematopoiesis over the lifetime of an organism. By defining age-specific hematopoietic states, we aim to unlock new insights into the pathobiology of age-biased blood disease. Our work uses primary human blood cells, pluripotent stem cells, experimental models of stem cell transplantation, and single cell functional and -omics assays.
