EMPOWER Study on ADHD

We are now recruiting parents and caregivers of 5-15 year old children to participate in focus groups for the EMPOWER Study. This study is supported by funding from the ICCTR at Boston Children’s Hospital. At this stage of the research, we are gathering information from parents/caregivers about cultural and individual differences in opinions on attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) diagnosis, assessment, interventions, and treatments.

General Information about Participation

  • You may be eligible to participate if you are a parent or caregiver of a child between the ages of 5-15
  • Your child does not have to have ADHD/ADD for you to participate
  • Study participation involves one 90-minute focus group done on zoom
  • You will be compensated with $100 for completing the focus group
  • We will schedule focus groups at times that are convenient for all participants

What is a Focus Group?

  • A research focus group is a time where researchers ask questions about caregivers’ opinions, experiences, and thoughts on a topic
  • Focus groups will include about 6 parents/caregivers plus the researchers
  • There are no right or wrong answers in a focus group
  • You do not have to answer every question in a focus group
