Transplant Hepatology Fellowship | Overview

The Advanced Hepatology and Transplant Fellowship at Boston Children’s Hospital is a one-year ACGME-accredited fellowship open to individuals who will have completed an ACGME-accredited three-year pediatric gastroenterology fellowship.

Training in this program is comprehensive and will include supervision in the management of ambulatory and in-patient care to children and young adults with a broad range of congenital and acquired hepatobiliary disorders. Transplant fellows are also involved in the education and supervision of pediatric gastroenterology fellows. In addition, all fellows spend approximately 40 percent of their time completing a mentored clinical research project. Funding is available to support attendance at regional and national meetings. Fellows will have opportunities for peer education through participation in a curriculum of lectures and conferences offered both at Boston Children’s Hospital as well as the adjacent campuses of Harvard Medical School and its affiliate hospitals. A one-month rotation at a local adult hepatology/liver transplant program is required.
