Professional History

I am a pediatric radiologist with expertise in fetal and newborn imaging, including sonography, magnetic resonance imaging and radiography. I am the Division Chief of Fetal and Neonatal Imaging within the Department of Radiology, with responsibility for coordinating newborn imaging and clinical radiology coverage for the Boston Children’s Hospital Newborn Intensive Care Unit (NICU),  the Brigham and Women’s Hospital NICU and the Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center NICU. I helped to establish the Boston Children’s Hospital Advanced Fetal Care Center as a major fetal diagnostic center, and have been a leader in professional societies advancing the goal of improved accuracy in the diagnosis and treatment of congenital anomalies.

I have responsibility for the Fetal-Neonatal teaching curriculum for Radiology residents and fellows, and for the imaging education of Newborn Medicine fellows. I mentor Radiology, Pediatric and Maternal Fetal Medicine residents and fellows, and collaborate with advanced degree non-MD faculty on technical advancements in imaging fetuses and newborns with congenital anomalies.  I collaborate extensively, both clinically in developing and furthering clinical research, with pediatric colleagues in neurology, neurosurgery, gynecology, orthopedics, urology, nephrology, surgery, plastic surgery, genetics and neonatology.
