Professional History

Dr. Jana Leary completed her medical training at Johns Hopkins School of Medicine and pediatric residency at Johns Hopkins Hospital, subsequently joining Tufts faculty as a pediatric hospitalist in 2009. While practicing clinically in both tertiary and community settings, she developed a passion for translational research, and in 2018, she completed a TL1 research fellowship, concurrently obtaining her Masters degree in clinical and translational science at Tufts University. Her primary research interests focus on improving health outcomes and transitions of care for vulnerable pediatric populations such as the medically and socially complex. She completed a KL2 career development award in 2022, with research focused on the implementation of social risk screening and referral in pediatric inpatient settings.
