Dr. Hesham Alhazmi is board-certified in both pediatric dentistry and dental public health. He completed a residency in pediatric dentistry and earned a Master's Degree from Tufts University. He then earned a residency in dental public health and received a Doctor of Medical Sciences from Harvard University. Dr. Alhazmi is an assistant professor at Umm Al-Qura University in Saudi Arabia and a lecturer on Oral Health Policy and Epidemiology at Harvard University. He also serves as a thesis advisor at Harvard University and New York Medical College.

His research focuses on analyzing national data, implementing school-based oral health programs, and integrating oral health with primary care. Dr. Alhazmi participated in the collaboration between Harvard University and the Health Advancement Initiative in Vietnam and has worked with the Center for Integration of Primary Care and Oral Health. He is the author of numerous research articles and reviews.

Dr. Alhazmi has received several awards, including the Dr. James M. Dunning Award for Outstanding Research in Oral Epidemiology/Public Health Dentistry, the Lois K. Cohen Award for Excellence in Global Health, the Caswell A. Evans Population Oral Health Post-Professional Award, and the Leverett Graduate Student Merit Award for Outstanding Achievement in Dental Public Health.
