Professional History

Dr. Claire Lawlor is a pediatric otolaryngologist at Boston Children's Hospital and an Assistant Professor of Otolaryngology at Harvard Medical School. She currently sees patients in Boston, Weymouth, and North Dartmouth. She is actively involved in the Esophageal & Airway Treatment Center and the Center for Airway Disorders.

Dr. Lawlor grew up in Massachusetts. She completed her pediatric otolaryngology fellowship at Boston Children’s Hospital and Harvard Medical School. She is board-certified by the American Board of Otolaryngology–Head and Neck Surgery in Otolaryngology–Head and Neck Surgery and Complex Pediatric Otolaryngology. After her fellowship, she worked at Children's National Medical Center in Washington, DC where she established multidisciplinary clinics in anterior skull base surgery and complex sleep apnea, as well as expanded the aerodigestive program. She currently serves as associate site director for rotating otolaryngology residents at Boston Children’s Hospital and is a member of the education committee within the Department of Otolaryngology and Communication Enhancement.

She is an editor at JAMA Otolaryngology–Head and Neck Surgery and has served as a Complex Pediatric Otolaryngology task force member of the American Board of Otolaryngology–Head and Neck Surgery. Dr. Lawlor has been selected to multiple national committees at the American Academy of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery and the American Society of Pediatric Otolaryngology, including the AAO–HNS programming committee and the pediatric otolaryngology education committee. She has authored more than 60 peer-reviewed manuscripts. She has received awards for her clinical research and her work in airway and swallowing has been presented nationally.

Dr. Lawlor has a special interest in caring for children with airway lesions/stenosis, difficulty swallowing, difficulty breathing, sinus disease, skull base surgery, obstructive sleep and breast feeding medicine.

Approach to Care
I take care of each patient as if the child was one of my own.
