Who is referred here?

The infants and children seen by our Neuro-Ophthalmology Service are usually referred by an ophthalmologist or another specialist who has identified a condition affecting the optic nerve or eye movements. We collaborate with Boston Children's experts in Neurology, Neurosurgery, Neuro-Oncology, Endocrinology, and Genetics, working together to make a definitive diagnosis and deliver the most child-focused, family centered, and comprehensive care for our patients.

The Neuro-Ophthalmology Service treats children of all ages with complex eye disorders caused by neurological conditions. Our patients and families come from throughout the greater Boston area, across the nation, and around the world.

How can I make a referral or request a second opinion?

If you are a clinician who would like to make a referral, or a parent who would like to obtain a second opinion, please contact us at 617-355-6401. Our expert pediatric ophthalmologists in the Department of Ophthalmology at Boston Children's are also available to treat children with relevant symptoms.
