Philosophy of Care

I practice from a strengths based perspective and I utilize a variety of therapeutic techniques in my work with children, adolescents and their families including cognitive behavior therapy (CBT), narrative therapy, motivational interviewing, mindfulness and music therapy.

PROFESSIONAL HISTORY

Alyssa has worked with children and families in a variety of settings including Boston Children’s Hospital with the Emergency Psychiatry Service and CBAT program, McLean-Franciscan Child and Adolescent Inpatient Program, Malden High School’s Pathways Program, and Boston Emergency Service Team. Alyssa has experience working with children and families in acute crisis as well as providing support for children and adolescents coping with behavioral health concerns such as anxiety, depression, OCD, bipolar disorder and a variety of social stressors. Additionally, Alyssa has worked as an adjunct professor at Simmons University in the Master of Social Work (MSW) program.
