Philosophy of Care

Mental health diagnoses present a unique set of challenges for everyone, particularly children and adolescents. I find that children and teens are highly aware of their struggles and weaknesses; however, remarkably unaware of how common their perceived deficits are within society as a whole. When working with children/teens, I use a wide range of therapeutic techniques, including psychoeducation and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. Mental health is an incredibly challenging and rewarding field of study, working within the medical home has allowed for me to increase my level of care to include the child’s family and medical team, when appropriate, and has led to some amazing transformations over the years.
