Siobhan Case | Professional History

I am an attending physician in pediatric and adult rheumatology working at Boston Children’s Hospital and Brigham and Women’s Hospital. I am especially interested in helping patients with childhood-onset rheumatic disease learn self-management skills and smoothly transition into adult care.
I went to college at Stanford University, where I graduated with University Distinction and Honors in Human Biology. I then went to Yale School of Medicine where I completed both an MD and a Masters in Health Science as part of a Doris Duke Clinical Research fellowship.

For medical training, I came to Boston Children’s Hospital and Brigham and Women’s Hospital for a combined residency in Internal Medicine and Pediatrics (Med-Peds), followed by a combined fellowship in Pediatric and Adult Rheumatology. Throughout fellowship I worked at the Center for Adults with Pediatric-onset Rheumatic Illness (CAPRI), a clinic specifically designed to help transition young adults to adult rheumatology, and I have continued my work in the CAPRI Clinic as an attending. My research has focused on disparities in care, especially for patients with systemic lupus
