I have always had a strong interest in the biological sciences as well as compassionately caring for others and pursued medicine as it presented the best opportunity for me to combine those interests. I developed an interest in child psychiatry due to its emphasis on a holistic understanding of the patient, family and social system in order to provide the best care. I have a strong interest in pediatric psychosomatic medicine in the area of neuroimmunology, psychiatric risks in children coping with chronic illnesses, and somatic presentations of psychiatry. I hope to continue further developing my strengths and skills in academic medicine as a clinician, researcher and educator.
