Dr. Maria C. David has more than 20 years of medical experience practicing general pediatrics including fifteen years of diverse leadership position developing and implementing policies and procedures to ensure the delivery of quality health care. She is the Medical Director of Pediatric Care of the Hudson Valley , an affiliate of Boston Children’s Hospital Physicians.

Well-respected by her patients and the community, Dr. David has garnered multiple awards such as the Kazi Uzair Award (Most Outstanding Resident Award) in 1995 for her dedication and commitment for the care of children. In 2002, she was presented the Harriet Tubman Humanitarian Achievement Award in Albany, New York. She was also awarded the 2008 Health Care Heroes Award in the Hudson Valley, New York. For several consecutive years, she has been consistently honored with the Patient’s Choice Award and Compassionate Doctor Recognition Award.

Dr. David graduated cum laude, from University of Santo Tomas, Manila, Philippines, receiving Bachelor of Science in Biology in 1985. Four years later, she received her Medical Degree at the same school in 1989. In 1990, she was awarded the Most Outstanding Medical Intern at Cardinal Santos Medical Center in Manila, Philippines.

She completed her Pediatric Residency Training in 1995 at New York Medical College, Westchester County Medical Center in Valhalla, New York. For her continued academic excellence and dedication, she was awarded the Most Outstanding Resident Award. In 2002, she studied Masters of Public Health Courses, Health Policy and Management at New York Medical College, Valhalla, New York. Then in 2004, she earned her Master’s Degree in Health Care Management from Harvard University of Public Health in Boston, Massachusetts.

Dr. David joined the Family Health Center of Newburgh (FHC), New York in 1995. As the Chief of Pediatrics, she played a key role in the expansion of the Pediatric Department. In 1999, she became the Medical Director of FHC where she piloted the opening of a new open-access fast-track for out-patient that has become the model for other community health centers.

In 2002, she was elected by the pediatricians at St. Luke’s Cornwall Hospital, Newburgh – New York, a clinical affiliate of Mount Sinai Hospital, to be the Chairperson of the Pediatrics Department.

In the same year, she started a solo Pediatric practice that has successfully grown. Pediatric Care of the Hudson Valley is now known as one of the biggest pediatric medical groups in eastern Orange County. As the Medical Director, Dr. David has successfully brought the practice through the National Committee of Quality Assurance Recognition, the first pediatric practice to achieve this recognition in the area.

Dr. David is certified by the American Board of Pediatrics and is a fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics. She is a member of American Medical Association, the premier professional society of doctors promoting the art and science of medicine and the betterment of public health. She is also a member of Orange County Medical Association.

Dr. David has been involved in clinical, academic and administrative medicine. She facilitates blood drives and community health fairs. She volunteers in several medical advisory groups. She is well loved by her colleagues, patients and the community.
