Philosophy of Care

In the Boston Children’s Hospital (BCH) Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) our philosophy is to ensure that every patient receives the best care for the best possible outcomes. We consider our “patient” to be the baby and the family; we are constantly striving to serve the needs of both. This requires a team based approach with all members being essential. Being a pediatrician requires close collaboration between  parents,  nurses, and physicians to provide the best possible medical care for infants and children.  It is a privilege to work for Boston Children's Hospital, and to bring high quality care to the local community hospital, yet have the backup of world class pediatric specialist colleagues.

Dr. Linda A. Bishop completed her residency on the Children's Service of the Massachusetts General Hospital in 1980, and then practiced general pediatrics, both office and hospital care, for 30 years on Cape Cod where she was privileged to serve multiple generations of families.  Since 2012 she has worked for Boston Children's Hospital at  Southcoast Health  including St. Luke's Hospital in New Bedford and Tobey Hospital in Wareham.  She provides pediatric inpatient hospital care, normal newborn care,  Level 2 nursery care, and attends high risk deliveries of newborns.
