Professional History

Dr. Smyth received her dental degree from Trinity College, Dublin, Ireland in 2012. After 5 years working in private general practice, she returned to Trinity College to undertake a three-year Clinical Doctorate in Pediatric Dentistry, graduating in 2020. Dr. Smyth held a position as a Clinical Supervisor at the Dublin Dental University Hospital, Trinity College Dublin, and also as a pediatric dental associate in a specialist private practice in Dublin. Dr. Smyth joined the team at Boston Children's Hospital Department of Dentistry in 2022 as a Clinical Fellow in Pediatric Dentistry.

I am passionate about providing dental care for children in the context of a holistic, whole-child approach. I believe in the importance of meeting each child and family where they are at and working together to achieve optimal oral health. My focus is on helping each child in my care to build their confidence in the dental setting, fostering lifelong positive attitudes to dentistry, while also providing high-quality evidence-based dental care.
